Live steam members please be reminded that working parties occur most Wenesdays from 10am.
There is a well-equipped and comprehensive workshop, which includes some larger machines not normally found in the home workshop. All club members have access to the workshop with tuition or guidance if required.
Our latest engines in the fleet to provide passenger trains.
The live steam section has a continuous raised track suitable for 3½” and 5″ gauge locomotives. It is about 660 feet long and runs around the perimeter of the Community Centre site.
We provide public train rides on the third Sunday of the month April-September. Access is free with the opportunity to take a ride or just sit and watch the kids young and old play trains.
Access to the steaming bays is by trolley and from there to the track by traverser. There are two 5″ gauge club locos, one steam and one diesel and a 3.5″steam loco, on which new club members can get driving experience.
Visiting locos are welcome (by prior arrangement please) and must have a current boiler certificate.
