Refurbishment of Princess Marina is a long term project. Finally got around to quartering the new wheels.
Building the 3.5 inch Duchess is another long term project. Shown here is the fabrication of the lubricator. Dave supplied a length of brass square which needed cutting down and thinning to make the container.
Even the Brit needs a fair bit of attention. On the last Public Running days the dummy speedo became detached so needed attention . The fault was partly my earlier replacement of the bronze central bearing on the coupling rod. I had made the back flange 10 thou or so thicker so that the rear coupling rod exerted a slight outward pressure on the speedo bracket. This was easily resolved by removing that excess.
The other issue was the mounting spindle being worn. I decided a slight redesign to incorporate a couple of small bearings as well as making a new spindle was the way forward.
Yes the Britannia certainly needs a clean
